    Unit 3: At school

    I. OBJECTIVE: By the end of this lesson, Ss will be able to
    *Section A: SCHEDULES
    - Review the way of speaking the time and some subjects at school. Ss will practice listening for details about subjects and time.
    - Speak to each other about the schedule and practice the present continuous tense.
    - Speak about the difference between two persons or two things and they will know about the difference between schools in the USA and Viet Nam. Practice reading skill.
    * Section B: THE LIBRARY
    - Read the text to understand the details and practice library vocabulary & prepositions of positions
    - Know the information about one of the world’s largest libraries though the text and review the prepositions of position and library vocabulary.
    II. METHODOLOGY AND TEACHING AIDS.
    Method: Communicative Approach.
    Teaching aids: flash cards, course books, exercise books, …..
    III. STEPS OF TEACHING.
    Greetings.
    Checking attendance.
    Oral Checking :
    - Calls some ss to remind the new words and structures
    - Asks some ss to practice the dialogues again
    - Asks some ss to answer the questions

    * WARM UP:
    - Set up the situation then divide class into 2 teams to write some name of books in English.

    A: SCHEDULES
    A1. Listen and repeat.
    - Sets up the situation, then let them look at the clock on the bb.
    What time is it?
    What time do you go to school?
    What time does your class start / finish?
    - Asks Ss to look at the book and listen to the tape.
    - Has Ss read after the tape.
    - Calls on some Ss to read aloud.
    - Has Ss work in pairs asking and answering the time.
    SS1: What time is it?
    SS2: It’s 7 o’clock.
    - Calls on some pairs to practice in front of the class
    ( exchange the roles)
    - corrects
    A2. Answer about you.
    - Asks Ss to work in pairs asking and answering about them.
    - Makes model with a student.
    T: What time do you get up?
    S : I get up at 6 o’clock.
    T: What time do classes start?
    S : They start at 7 o’ clock.
    - Calls on some pairs to practice in front of the class.
    - Remarks and ask them to write the answers in the notebooks.
    A3. Listen and write. Complete the schedule.
    - Asks Ss to look at the schedule then explain the aim of the exercise.

    - Has Ss guess the missing subjects and time.
    - Calls on some Ss to give their prediction.
    - Asks Ss to listen to the tape and compare their prediction.
    - Plays the tape again and ask Ss to write the missing subjects and time.
    - Has Ss exchange the results with the partners.
    - Plays the tape again for Ss to check the results.
    - Asks Ss to give the answers.
    - Corrects and gives the correct answer.
    - Asks Ss to copy down.
    - Has Ss work in pairs asking and answering the time of the subjects on Friday and Saturday .
    EX: What time do they have English on Friday ?
    They have English at 7:00
    - Calls on some pairs to practice in front of the class.
    - Corrects the mistakes if necessary.
    
    - Play the game.












    - Listen and answer T’s questions.


    - Look at the clock on the book.
    - Listen and repeat.
    - Work in pairs.
    - Practice in front of the class.





    - Read over the questions on page 42. Then work in pairs.

    - Practice in front of class.

    - Write the answers on the bb.

    - Look at the table on page 43.

    - Guess the subject and time.









    - Listen to the tape and complete.
